It seems that coffee shops will soon be known as much for wireless charging as they are for coffee if Powermat Technologies keeps on making deals with them. Indeed, the wireless power solutions provider expanded its existing partnership with Starbucks earlier this year, bringing Duracell Powermat wireless phone charging to its coffee shops in Silicon Valley. Now it has entered into a similar partnership with California-based chain The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
Just as with Starbucks, Powermat Technologies will bring Duracell Powermat wireless phone charging to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf customers in the Los Angeles area. Effective immediately, customers who visit select locations of the coffee chain can top off their mobile phone for free.
Customers that opt to try out wireless charging in these test locations will also be the first to try out the new Duracell Powermat Powermatrix App, which is available for iOS and Android (News – Alert) devices. The app aids customers in finding locations that feature Power Matters Alliance (PMA) technology so they can check how close they are to a charging station while on the go. The app also allows users to purchase Duracell Powermat accessories online.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations that offer wireless charging aren’t limited to a single product, but rather offer a range of items, including Duracell Powermat’s wireless rings, cases and batteries.

Duracell Powermat is a joint venture between Procter & Gamble’s Duracell brand and Powermat.
